Tunisia’s Centre d'Étude et de Recherche de Télécommunications (CERT) has updated its Wi-Fi Type Approval procedures by introducing mandatory Wi-Fi connectivity testing, effective June 1.
To support these evaluations, CERT’s conformity laboratory in Tunisia has integrated the Anritsu MT8862A Wireless Connectivity Test Set into its official testing framework.
In addition to standard Radio Frequency (RF) assessments (such as output power, frequency accuracy, and spectral mask), CERT will now actively evaluate real-time Wi-Fi connectivity performance. Connectivity testing applies across IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards in alignment with applicable European Norm (EN) technical requirements.
All Equipment Under Test (EUT) submitted to CERT must feature a fully functional Wi-Fi test mode to allow seamless connectivity verification during the lab evaluation.
Manufacturers and importers planning to launch Wi-Fi-enabled devices in Tunisia should coordinate with their engineering teams to ensure firmware/software supports the required test modes prior to submitting physical samples.
