The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has issued an official circular referencing Article 11 of the Product Safety Law and Article 19 of its Executive Regulations.
Starting from October 1, 2026, all local manufacturers and importers are required to clearly list both the supplier's business name (importer or local manufacturer) and their Commercial Registration (CR) number directly on product labels for items subject to specific technical regulations.
The new requirements include the following:
product labels must clearly display the supplier's name (importer or local manufacturer) and their official Saudi CR number.
SASO will verify compliance using the data submitted through the SABER electronic platform. Approved conformity assessment bodies must verify these labeling requirements before issuing a Product Certificate of Conformity (PCoC).
Non-compliant parties will be subject to legal procedures and penalties under the Saudi Product Safety Law and its Executive Regulations.
This new labeling requirement applies to products covered by the following 10 technical regulations:
tanks — Part 2: LPG tankers
watercrafts
tanks
trailers and semi-trailers
electrical self-balancing boards (scooters)
simple pressure vessels
child restraint systems and strollers
building materials – Part 3: hydraulic links and related products
small solar photovoltaic systems
electrical lifts used in buildings and facilities (Added)
All SABER beneficiaries, manufacturers, and importers dealing with products covered by these 10 technical regulations should review their artwork and packaging designs immediately to ensure that the required supplier details and CR numbers are included before the October 1, 2026 deadline.
