What do you need to know about CITC approval?

What do you need to know about CITC approval?
MENACERT would like to share a couple of tips related to the CITC approval process.
The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) regulates approval and licensing of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Equipment. Such devices include Mobile Phones, Mobile Routers Tablets, Mobile Computers, and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
There are cases when products contain wireless modules but are not categorized as ICT equipment. For example, monitors or household appliances with wireless modules or similar equipment. In this case, the devices cannot be subject to CITC approval itself. However, the embedded wireless modules can.
Thus, when we talk about the approval of non-ICT devices in Saudi Arabia, it is necessary to understand that the certificate is issued only for the wireless module included. The device itself does not fall under the category of the ICT equipment.
