Morocco Initiates 5G Licensing Process

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) of Morocco has officially launched a competitive tender for 5G mobile network licenses. This key initiative is a cornerstone of the country's "Morocco Digital 2030" strategy, aimed at modernizing its telecommunications infrastructure and driving digital transformation.
The licensing process is designed to facilitate the deployment of cutting-edge 5G technology, which is expected to be a major catalyst for economic growth and innovation across vital sectors, including industry, healthcare, agriculture, and transportation.
According to the ANRT, 5G will deliver "exceptionally fast data speeds, minimal delays ideal for real-time use, and robust capabilities to support critical services."
The bid documents, now available from the ANRT, outline the technical, financial, and regulatory conditions for 5G network deployment. They also specify requirements for network coverage, quality of service, and commercial rollout.
This move marks a significant milestone in Morocco's push to become a leader in digital innovation and connectivity.
