United Arab Emirates Inform about Digitizing All Services

Earlier, the MENACERT informed our Subscribers about merging the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) with the structure of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the United Arab Emirates (MoIAT).

Recently, MoIAT has notified that it completely finished transferring all the services into digital format in order to implement government directives. It means that all its services will be accessible only through the website and mobile application available on AppStore and Google market. Including those related to ESMA, such as:

  • Conformity services, including an attestation of Conformity Certificate issued by GCC Standardization Organization (GSO)
  • Standards development
  • Metrological and accreditation services

Though, the eServices will be accessible on a 24/7 basis, to get them one should have an account on the MOIAT portal.

As the system has been updated, our subscribers with local representatives in the UAE must create a new account and a new organization profile via the MOIAT newly created system on their website.
Please, make sure that the date you fill in the organization profile is correct as this information will be automatically added to the issued certificate.
Moreover, the list of ECAS required documents has been supplemented with a new document: Distributorship letter drawn by the manufacturer or brand owner to a local distributor.
