The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Bahrain has officially enacted Decision No. 1 of 2026, introducing new requirements for e-SIM based Roaming Services.
This specific regulation focuses on e-SIM services intended exclusively for use outside of Bahrain. The decision aims to provide a clear legal framework for service providers and ensures that international roaming solutions provided via e-SIM technology adhere to national standards for consumer protection and technical transparency.
The decision is now live and must be followed by all licensed telecommunications providers in the Kingdom.
For manufacturers and service providers operating in the region, compliance with this new decision is mandatory for any device or service supporting global e-SIM connectivity within Bahrain's jurisdiction.
