According to the Resolution 10 of 2022 issued on June 9, 2022, type approval procedures for devices operating on the 2G network as well as selling of such devices on the market have been stopped at the end of June 2022.
However, the TDRA gave time for telecom service providers to stop operating less effective networks. This decision was a part of TRA’s efforts in launching the latest and most effective networks in UAE. It allows for developing telecommunications sectors, where mobile networks are constantly updating and changing, and helps UAE stay relevant to these changes and make accurate and timely decisions.
